Is Elise (the AI barista) going to make my PECO bill go up?
No. We know AI data centers use a lot of power, and we refuse to let South Philly foot the bill for Silicon Valley. The company that powers Elise’s brain (Anthropic) has legally committed to paying for 100% of their own grid upgrades to protect local ratepayers from price spikes. Silicon Valley pays Elise's electric bill, not your neighborhood grid.Read their official energy pledge here.
